Five Favorite Denim Jackets

Denim jackets have a way of reinventing themselves each season; they never disappear but rather come back with a new silhouette, a different wash, a new point of view. And they can transform a look in a low-key way, without the drama of the leather jacket. Whether you are a traditional Levi's sort of girl or want something bold and embellished, there's a jacket for you. Here are my five favorite jackets, a little something for everyone.

Isabel Marant Étoile Cabella Embellished Denim Jacket

I found this Isabel Marant Étoile Cabella Embellished Denim Jacket in London and fell in love with the gray wash and the signature French/Western style that is quintessential Isabel Marant. I bought it a bit oversized to be able to layer it over a summer dress and come fall over my favorite sweaters.

Reformation Jean Jacket

Cropped denim jackets are super chic and the collection at Reformation is really cool. With its hip length, raw edges and fitted body, this little piece is sexy and on point. Shorter cropped jackets work fabulous as a shirt too, alone or layered over a fitted tank. Small silhouette, big style.

Free People Adler Denim Jacket

Free People Adler Denim Jacket

The full length slim Free People Adler Jacket with its vintage wash is a nod to the acid wash of days gone by, but way, way better. It boasts a plethora of pockets, a modern raw hem and enough style to turn heads both coming and going. I love the look of the collar popped up and the sweeping length. Yes, please.

Blank Denim Shrunken Denim Jackeet

Red denim is definitely having a moment and the candy apple red color of this Blank Denim jacket makes it a stand out. I also love the femininity of the puff sleeve, which gives it a bit of a 80s vibe as well. I can see this piece paired with plaid pants come fall and for now, white whites and distressed denim, or a cool pattern gives you a fashion home run.

Levis Ex-boyfriend Trucker Jacket

I can't talk about denim jackets without including the classic Levi, but with an update of course. Borrowed from the boys, the Ex-boyfriend Trucker Jacket has a more oversized fit and the black wash gives it street style edge. Embrace it's boxier fit and pair it with something feminine for a bit of contrast style.

A denim jacket is a closet staple for sure, but that doesn't mean it has to be basic. Almost every line has their own take on this jacket, but I also love perusing the vintage stores in both the mens and womens sections. Happy hunting!
